Youth Spotlight:
2Badd's Too Good
2Badd, the hottest and youngest dance group in Toronto, Canada; is comprised of Shemar Charles aka "Lil Brooklyn", and Lamar Johnson aka "Flipz". These two bad boys have been dancing before they could talk, and at the young ages of 11 and 13 Lil B and Flipz have the dancing world at their feet. Both boys are active in school and exceptional students whose focus is school first, and dance second.
It was only two years ago, when these two heart breakers got together as a group and started to perform at different talent shows and special events. Their style of dance is mixed with Hip Hop, Breaking and Dancehall. 2Badd’s influences are Michael Jackson, Usher and The Boogaloo’s, which brings such a diverse style to their routines.
Blaze Entertainment took notice of 2Badd while performing, and showcased their talents at the Marc Ecko “Getting Up Festival”. Thousands of people cheered as 2Badd performed on stage where artists such as Ciara, Ludacris, Kanye West, and many more performed. Many were amazed with 2Badd’s performance, and one of them was award winning video director Little X. “X” thought they were so hot he cast them in Sean Paul’s “Temperature” music video.
In February 2006, after auditioning in Toronto 2Badd was chosen out of many to perform at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem. The boys appeared on the nationally televised “Showtime at the Apollo” in February 2006. Showtime host Moniqu’e and special guest Ray J praised the 2Badd for their impressive dance skills.
2Badd's performance at the Apollo caught the attention of BET’s 106 & Park producers. They were asked to compete on the popular Wild Out Wednesday show. On December 13th 2Badd competed, and with an astounding 69% of the votes won the dance competition. Since then 2Badd has gone on to become one of the most popular dance teams to ever appear on 106 & Park.
2Badd's most recent appearance on The Maury Show's "Most Talented Dancer's and Much Music's "Best Dance Crews" has brought them world wide notoriety, and instant recognition.
2Badd has also appeared in popular commercials (KFC, Dinner and a Movie), movies (Honey), television shows (Breakfast Television, YTV The Zone) and many music videos.
Despite their age and size, 2Badd is a force to be reckoned with.
